Bioscience involves working with living organisms like plants, bacteria, viruses and fungi to discover how they work and how they can be used. The UK is a world leader in bioscience research, with jobs in drug discovery and development, plant biotechnology and tissue engineering.

Leisure and Tourism
When you think of tourist destinations, you don't immediately think of South Yorkshire! But tourism currently contributes £193 million to South Yorkshire's economy. Between 2005 and 2010, there could be 1,500 new jobs available in leisure and tourism, including health club managers, personal trainers and event organisers.

Manufacturing
Did you know that steel production is currently at its highest level ever, thanks to improvements in technology? In total, over 79,000 people are employed in manufacturing in South Yorkshire - that's 14% of the entire workforce.
