Y9 options

Your essential guide to Y9 vocational options

If you’re in Y9, you’ll know it’s about time to start thinking about the subjects you want to take next year. Of course, making these choices isn’t always as simple as it seems. There are so many courses and so many choices to make, it can be hard to know where to start.

For instance, did you know that GCSEs aren't your only option?

You may also be able to take subjects such as retail, construction, business or engineering, which are directly related to the world of work. They give you vocational qualifications and important skills that make you more employable and can help you get into college or university.

But before you make any decisions, it's always best to find out exactly what's available and what it's like to study a vocational course. Y9 options are important - so you need to make sure your choices are right for you.
